Ordinary Mirages
2025 Computer-generated video created from recordings of the artist’s daily movements and a 3D scan of her apartment « Can I doubt what I want to doubt? » from «On Certainty » by Ludwig Wittgenstein Ordinary Mirages is a video installation in which I explore the quiet poetry of our daily, automatic habits. Using motion capture technology, I recorded my habitual movements within my apartment, which was also scanned in 3D. In the video, only the clothing I was wearing floats in empty space, endlessly repeating those unconscious gestures that gradually reveal the surroundings. Like suspended dust or stars in formation, these routines sketch out a fragile beauty—appearing and vanishing in an instant, like a mirage. Through this work, I question the invisible structures that shape our behaviors and perceptions. These rituals, both intimate and collective, connect us and confine us at the same time. Ordinary Mirages thus unveils a space constructed by gesture, emptied of presence, suspended between reality and illusion.
