Through a transdisciplinary practice that brings together drawing, installation, and performance, I develop a world in which fragility and uncertainty become the driving forces of a sensitive exploration of everyday life. My work focuses on those moments when what we believe to be solid, both physically and psychologically, slips away, becomes fluid, and reveals its ephemeral and unstable nature.
My installations and performances often emerge from the same gesture: making familiar spaces appear and disappear as provisional, fragile, and shifting forms. I use fragile, malleable, or lightweight materials such as fabrics, plastic films, and computer-generated images, which deform, move, or disappear over time. These precarious structures evoke the vulnerability of our perception, as well as the constant tension between what we seek to preserve and what we fear losing. In my recent projects, the house and the room have become recurring motifs, symbols of the limits of identity within the framework of everyday life. The idea of “home” appears as a shifting construction, a perceptual fiction: both everywhere and nowhere at once. Through this approach, I seek to make perceptible the ways in which social and cultural norms condition our vision of the world and shape even our most ordinary behaviors. My work questions the relationship between structure, habit, and identity. Repetitive behaviors, whether individual or collective, form the invisible fabric of our reality. They facilitate our relationship with the world while also confining us within predictable patterns. My recent research is based on the observation and capture of these unconscious gestures within domestic space. Using motion capture technology and 3D scanning, I record everyday movements and translate this data into virtual environments. These spaces, reconstructed as point clouds or floating digital garments, become spectral traces of our automatisms and invisible interactions. In these immersive installations, gestures repeat, transform, and dissolve, revealing a fluctuating landscape. These ghostly presences give form to a reflection on identity as a temporary and contextual phenomenon, always in motion. In this way, my work seeks to make the invisible visible: the mental, social, and sensory structures that condition our ways of inhabiting, perceiving, and existing. My work often begins with moments in everyday life when what once seemed stable, familiar, or self-evident begins to waver. I am interested in the ways our perceptions, habits, and sociocultural structures silently construct our relationship to reality. The idea that everything is ephemeral, without fixed form or meaning, runs throughout my practice. When something appears normal or obvious, I seek to question that very sensation. The notion of the “mirage” therefore occupies a central place in my work: it refers to images, spaces, or structures that seem tangible, yet remain unstable, shifting, and capable of disappearing. |
